2014: My testimony on Faith

Back in December 2013, I prayed to God "if there's any reason for you to bring us back to Singapore, then let it be..."

Within 3 weeks of arrival in Singapore, I came to know that the benign water-cyst that I had in my breast is not benign at all and it is actually cancerous, stupidcancer. Then few days prior to my scheduled surgery to remove the cancer in my breast, my doctor postponed the surgery to call for further investigation - of which diagnosis confirmed that the cancer has spread to my lungs; officially pronouncing me a stage 4 cancer patient on the fateful day of the 23rd July 2014.

Now you see, returning to Singapore was never our plan. What we had in mind was for JB to get a job and settle in Australia as soon as he graduates. With his good grades who would have thought that it would be a problem to land a job? But after months and months of searching, the opportunity was just not there. It is as if God was closing all the doors, forcing him to venture out of Australia.

As soon as that prayer was said, everything started to move! Within a month, JB is back in Singapore. And for myself, although the move was somewhat delayed, it was a good delay. Through the Holy Spirit, I now came to understand that God has done so to make sure that I am fully* provided for in this situation. He was planning my journey all along - our journey.

Many people who didn't know God, like the 'old' me, would thought that God are for the poor, oppressed, or sick. But through my experience, I can attest that He is not.

I wasn't sick when I knew God. I did knew God but, I was a young believer. And to be frank, I was also a lazy believer! Lazy to find out more about God and to make the effort to know Him. Even my faith to God was questionable... One thing for sure is that I never stop praying...

Sitting here and looking back at the things that had happened, I am thankful to God for showing me that He is here. And through my story, I hope it has touched you in someway to find your way to Him - Our Father and Provider.

If you are not a believer but want to be one, all you need is a teenie-winnie sprout of believe and pray. Start your prayers with: "Dear God, ..." then talk to God as if you are talking to your friend then at the closing of your prayer, say: "In Jesus' name, Amen." - and trust me, God will listen and respond.
